- Westinghouse Induction Motor, Exhibited at the World's Columbian Exhibition, 1888-1889 - Nikola Tesla's name is inseparable from the development of alternating current electricity--particularly with regard to polyphase transmission, but especially with regard to the induction motor. His motor, patented in 1888, was the first practical AC motor. George Westinghouse licensed Tesla's motor patents that same year--enabling the Westinghouse AC lighting system to become a real competitor with direct current systems.

- Schoolroom Progress U.S.A. Traveling Exhibit, circa 1955 - The Henry Ford produced <em>Schoolroom Progress, U.S.A.</em>, a traveling exhibition housed in two railroad cars, in 1955-1956. The exhibit featured re-creations of American classrooms from different periods in history to that point. <em>Schoolroom Progress, U.S.A.</em> included artifacts from The Henry Ford's holdings, and it increased national recognition of the museum and its collections.
